Houyet is a commune of 4,000, thirty-five kilometers south of the city of Namur. The Lesse River flows through it from east to northwest, and the E411 roadway passes through north-south. A tiny portion of Houyet kisses the French border, near the Meuse River.
Celles, Ciergnon, Custinne, Finnevaux, Hour, Hulsonniaux, Mesnil-Eglise, Mesnil-Saint-Blaise, and Wanlin are boroughs within the municipal district of Houyet. (There are two other Belgian places called Celles: one in Hainaut province, and one in Faimes, Liege province.)
