For thousands of years the valleys, prairies, and plateaus of North Central Region have been home to the Nez Perce Indians. Today, the 24 sites of the park bring alive the historical past. Park headquarters are in Spalding, 11 miles east of Lewiston on Highway 95. An important stop on the tour is the visitors center which contains a Nez Perce museum, an auditorium with interpretive talks, and films.
