The Arts Council is thirty-three years old and is owned and operated as Princetons downtown arts center. It serves over 40,000 people annually with on-campus workshops and classes taught by artists in their area of expertise. Quarterly classes ar e offered in disciplines such as Ceramics and Sculpture, Theater, Drawing, Creative Writing, Storytelling, Photography and Painting. Outreach efforts in a variety of mediums are offered to homeless children and through the Juvenile Justice program. Additionally, the Arts Council hosts an Artist-in-Residence program, WPA Alternative Gallery for non-commercial artists and provides off-campus community events such as the Hometown Halloween Parade, New Years Eve Curtain Calls, Christmas Caroling and Valentines Workshop. The Arts Council Building acts as a community incubator by providing rehearsal and performance space for area cultural groups, as well as a Ceramics and Photography studios with open studio time offered seasonally.
