Founded in 1927, this is a public institution offering undergraduate programs in the arts and sciences, business administration, education, health science, upper-level nursing and other professional fields. There are two undergraduate schools and a graduate school. The 46-acre campus is in an urban area 10 miles west of New York City. Including residence halls, there are 14 buildings.
Fraternities, sororities and over 42 clubs and organizations exist at JCSC. Campus tours are available.
Jersey City State College in 1998 became New Jersey City University.
