This regional opera company stages a festival of both classic and modern repertory each summer. As well as presenting opera, the Opera Festival presents informative lectures and pre-opera talks to enhance public understanding and appreciation for the operatic form. Gala evenings are held throughout the year as are demonstrations and discussions. A children's opera tour is held each year; children's workshops are also held during the mainstage season.
