Coshocton is located in east central Coshocton County (of which it is the county seat) north of Zanesville along Highway 83 and 541 on the banks of the Tuscarawas River. The population estimate for July 1, 1998 was 12,183, a decrease of 10 since 1990.
Fishing opportunities abound as the Walhonding River and the Tuscawaras River flow together creating the Muskingum river in the city's northwest section. In addition, Wills Creek and Wills Creek Lake are about 5 miles southeast of town.
Golfers enjoy their outings to Coshocton Town & Country Club, a private 9-hole course but with a reciprocal guest agreement with members of other clubs and Hilltop Golf Course, a public 18-hole facility.
For history buffs, the city invites you to visit Historic Roscoe Village and the Johnson-Humrickhouse Museum.
