Waurika Lake is located in southwestern Oklahoma divided between Jefferson County, Stephens County and Cotton County. The 10,000-acre has about 80 miles of shoreline and supports 6 developed or semi-developed recreational areas. Three areas have campsites while all areas have drinking water and restrooms. Other amenities and facilities include boat ramps and docks, picnic areas with grills, group shelters, cabins, swimming beach with change house, playground, swimming pool, boat rentals, horseback riding and sanitary dump stations.
The lake is noted for its good crappie and hybrid striper fishing. In addition, there is hunting in the area for whitetail deer, dove, quail, rabbit, wild turkey and various species of waterfowl.
