The town got it's name when pioneers saw the area as a good place for a college, and so, with a land donation,
Walla Walla College opened on December 7, 1892.
Residents and visitors alike enjoy the many recreational opportunities in the area. The Blue Mountains, Snake River, and Columbia River are all close-by, providing opportunities for many outdoor activities. Seattle, Spokane, and Portland, OR are all three to five hours away.
