Highway 2 is the main north-south highway in Alberta. Starting at the U.S. border at Carway, it goes north through Cardston and crosses Transcanada Highway 1 at Calgary. At Athabasca, the highway changes from north-south to east-west. West of Athabasca, the highway passes through High Prairie, Peace River, and Grande Prairie, before heading west into British Columbia to join Highway 97.
