Chatanika Lodge was built in the 1930s as a trading post, and today is a classic Alaska roadhouse. Rooms are available, along with a saloon, package store and family-style dining. It has a rustic atmosphere. The old gold dredge across the street was used to extract over $70 million in gold.
Snow machine rentals are available in the winter to take advantage of the groomed trails. Alaska artifacts, live music, and aurora borealis videos on big-screen TV complete the ambiance.
