Join archaeologists in helping to uncover Kanenai village, which was occupied for at least 7,500 years until its abondonment in the 1930s.
The archaeology camp is on the south side of Afognak Island, just a 30-minute floatplane trip from Kodiak. Hundreds of items have been recovered from the Native site, including ulus, gaming pieces, thread, leather scraps, and adzes - all of which are housed in the Alutiiq Museum & Archaeology Repository.
