Larsen Bay lies on the northwest coast of Kodiak Island. The bay was named for Peter Larsen, an Unga Island furrier, hunter, and guide. Hundreds of archaeological artifacts have been uncovered in the area surrounding the village.
Larsen Bay is a traditional Sugpiaq Eskimo settlement. Villagers' diets consist of local salmon, halibut, seal, sea lion, clams, crab, and deer.
Scheduled and charter flights are available from Kodiak.
