Franklin County Watermelon Festival

Search Russellville

Downtown Russellville is home of the Franklin County Watermelon Festival each August. It's a time for a lot of good fun and of course, juicy watermelons that can cool a hot sumer day in the south. The festival is in its 30th year and the carnival-type atmosphere has become a must-do event for thousands. There's plenty of music, a car and truck show, activites for children and competitions, including a watermelon seed-spitting contest.
