After being settled by the Indians in the 1700's, and a history in the Civil War, Citronelle has a rich heritage for the residents.
It is found in Mobile County ( Gulf Coast Region), 25 miles N of Mobile along Highway 45 near the Mississippi state line.
Citronelle is part of the Mobile, Alabama metro area.
Citronelle has the history of being founded by the Indians that were native tot he area. One of the major items of the city is from when it was in the early stages. The city has a railroad that is a main part of the economy and comes from its past of economic development.
Some of the local attractions are the historic homes, golf course, country club, civil war re-enactment, and railroad museum. The re-enactment is an excellent site to visit and watch the civil war as it would have happened.
