Wetumpka is located in Elmore County (Central Region), nine miles N of Montgomery along Highway 231 on the banks of the Jordan River near Alabama River placing it as part of the Montgomery, Alabama metro area.
The city is full of history at the Jasmine Hill Gardens and Outdoor Museum, Al Holmes Wildlife Museum and at Fort Jackson & Ft. Toulouse. These places are wonderful for finding the history of the area and the city.
