DeQueen is located in Sevier County (of which it is the county seat), between Nashville and the Oklahoma boarder at the junction of US Hwy 71, US Hwy 70, Hwy 329 and Hwy 41, just south of DeQueen Lake. The population estimate for July 1, 1998 was 4,872, an increase of 239 since 1990. Some popular attractions throughout the DeQueen area include: Gillham Lake, Pond Creek National Wildlife Refuge, Sevier County Historical Society Museum.
