More than 30 years ago, a group of dedicated community-minded individuals envisioned a new hospital for the growing health care needs in North Central Arkansas. After tremendous support from the community, White River Medical Center opened its doors to receive the first patient on January 31, 1976. Today, White River Medical Center is a 180 bed private-not-for-profit hospital (WRMC) that serves as a regional referral Center for North Central Arkansas. WRMC has more than 70 physicians on the medical staff in the following specialties: Anesthesiology, Cardiology; Cardiovascular Surgery, ENT; Emergency Medicine; Family Practice; General, Vascular & Thoracic Surgery; Internal Medicine; Obstetrics/Gynecology; Ophthalmology; Oncology; Orthopedics; Pathology; Pediatrics; Psychiatry; Radiation Oncology, Radiology and Urology.
