The peaceful and scenic Burro Creek Recreation Site is situated along Burro Creek within a Sonoran desert canyon, 60 miles northwest of Wickenburg on Highway 93. Level sites are available that can accommodate large RVs and suitable sites for tent campers. One handicap-accessible camp site is available with a nearby accessible restroom. Most camping and picnicking sites are equipped with a metal fire grill, trash can, picnic table, large sun-shelter ramada, and a level parking site. Other facilities include an interpretive desert garden, information and map exhibit, drinking water, restrooms with flush toilets and sinks, trailer and RV dump station, and group camping area for tents and/or RVs.
The Highway 93 Burro Creek Bridge offers rock collecting for excellent blue and purple agate and Apache Tears for which this area is noted. Reservations are accepted for group sites only. Individual sites are on a first-come, first-served basis.
