Said to be like a miniature "Smithsonian", this museum features southwestern folklore and attracts more than 200,000 visitors annually. Visitors can hear the thrilling roar of animated full-scale dinosaurs as they venture through the fascinating caves and life-sized recreations of the mysterious Hohokam Indian dwellings. There are hands-on exhibits for all ages including panning for real gold nuggets. Every three to four months special changing exhibits add new life and variety to the museum.

The museum is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. and Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.
