The Rim Institute is located on 24 forested acres in the Mongollon Rim area of the Tonto National Forest about 28 miles east of Payson. At 6,300 feet, the Rim Institute provides an excellent facility for Resident Degree Program summer and fall courses within a community environment in a beautiful natural setting. The center can accommodate 2-3 courses at a time, providing an opportunity for students in different fields to share experiences and perspectives. The College utilizes the Rim Institute to provide a viable, sustainable curriculum dedicated to the themes of personal growth, spiritual renewal, and planetary healing incorporating the arts, human development, and environmental education.

Events include the All-Indian Rodeo, motorized events, animal displays and competition, cooking contests, youth activities, and competitive entries. There is also an annual concert schedule that is announced prior to the fair. Exhibition buildings and grounds include the Agriculture Center, Arizona Plaza Building, Avenue of Flags, Cattle Barns, Exhibit Building, Grandstand-Arena, Hacienda Home Arts Center, Wesley Bolin Building, and the Party Gras.
