Sedona is located in Coconino County south of Flagstaff between Flagstaff and Camp Verde along Highway 89A near the Oak Creek Canyon and Mormon Lake.

Sedona is located near the famous red rock formations and the Oak Creek Canyon. Located in the high southwestern desert under the rim of the Colorado Plateau at an elevation of 4,500 feet, Sedona is known for its four mild seasons.

The City of Sedona was incorporated in 1988 and is one of Arizonas premier tourism, recreation, resort, retirement, and art centers. Today, many commercials and television shows are filmed in the rural area surrounding the city.

Located in a high desert climate, Sedona experiences temperatures averaging 15 degrees warmer than Flagstaff and 10 degrees cooler than Phoenix.

Arizona Exposition & State Fair Phoenix AZ October11-November3 The Arizona Expo and State Fair is held every year. Events include the All-Indian Rodeo, motorized events, animal displays and competition, cooking contests, youth activities, and competitive entries. There is also an annual concert schedule that is announced prior to the fair. Exhibition buildings and grounds include the Agriculture Center, Arizona Plaza Building, Avenue of Flags, Cattle Barns, Exhibit Building, Grandstand-Arena, Hacienda Home Arts Center, Wesley Bolin Building, and the Party Gras.
