The first major inlet north of the mouth of the Fraser River, Burrard Inlet begins west of Vancouver and includes English Bay. It extends past Vancouver's Stanley Park and goes inland past Burnaby to Port Moody. North Vancouver lies across the inlet from Vancouver.
