The park is situated in the Clayoquot River drainage, on the west coast of Vancouver Island. A high elevation plateau with small lakes, the park provides habitat for 29 rare plant species, in addition to containing undisturbed forests, karst and sink holes.

Given the karst topography of the area, it is important that visitors low-impact activities.
