"Cultus" was a Chinook word meaning "worthless," but the park area is now one of the most popular in southern British Columbia. It is located 11 km southwest of Chilliwack and covers 656 hectares. Surrounded by mountains, the scenery is inspiring, swimming is excellent, fishing for Dolly Varden, rainbow or cutthroat trout can be rewarding, and water skiing, wind surfing and hiking can all be enjoyed. Immediately adjacent to the park are a number of recreational facilities, ranging from go-cart rentals to Par 3 golf.
The park entrance is 16 km from Highway 1 (The Transcanada Highway) via Yarrow and 10 km via Sardis. There are almost 300 camping sites and reservations are accepted.
This is just one of hundreds of British Columbia Provincial Parks.
