The sheer rock walls of this canyon spiral down to the rapids of the Fraser River. Visitors can ride the world famous Hell's Gate Airtram above the Hell's Gate fishway, where hoards of sockeye salmon challenge the river each year on their way to spawn. At one point on this ride, the tram descends low enough to view 200 million gallons of water per minute, surging through the 110-ft gorge. The five minute ride will take you close to the rock walls that Simon Fraser, the early explorer, scaled many years ago.
