Located about 40 miles north of Pemberton, on the former Duffy Lake Road (a popular backroad drive past lakes and glaciers), Lillooet was once a Fraser River gold rush terminus. It is Mile 0 of the Gold Rush Trail and historical gateway to Cariboo Chilcotin Coast. In addition to its "cowboy country" atmosphere, Lillooet also features native archeological sites, ginseng farms and a pioneer museum. Visitors can travel to the Bridge River Valley and see the ghost towns of Bradian and Brexton, go for a wilderness camping trip, or pan for gold in crystal clear creeks.
