The park is tucked onto a warm south-facing slope under a canopy of stately Douglas fir and ponderosa pines on the shores of Loon Lake. Nearby, the Loon Creek fish hatchery features chinook and steelhead production.
The park is open for camping from approximately May to October, with fees collected for camping before October. There are no reservations for the 14 sites. Pit toilets are provided.
