Located along Yellowhead Highway 16 in the lush Robson Valley of the North by Northwest region, McBride is an ideal base camp for exploring alpine meadows, glacier-filled valleys and fabulous mountain scenery. The area is best known for backcountry experiences such as kayaking, canoeing, heli-hiking/skiing, and fishing. The rail and forest industries built McBride, whose history can be seen in the original Grand Trunk Pacific Railway station, a wooden truss bridge, and a 1930's hand-built house in Koeneman Park. Shopping in McBride includes offerings of handmade lace, claw and antler jewellery, paintings, local crafts, and high quality woolens. A 9-hole golf course offers spectacular views. Well marked trails in the high meadows lead to waterfalls.
