Search Port Alice British Columbia

Thirty-six miles south of the junction with Highway 19, Port Alice is located in scenic Quatsino Sound near the northern end of Vancouver Island. It was built in 1965 near the site of a much older townsite. A pulp mill provides the main means of livelihood for the town's population of 1,371. However hunting, fishing and boating attract increasing numbers of visitors each year. Forestry roads lead to several good lakes for fishing and picnicking, and also to magnificent limestone rock formations and caves. Services are limited.
