One of the Tri-Cities, located southeast of Vancouver, Port Moody is the home of the restored 1907 Canadian Pacific Railway, and the Golden Spike Festival. In the Tri-Cities area there is a wealth of recreation wilderness, including Belcarra Regional Park along the oceanfront, beaches, mudflats and floating walkway around Sasamat Lake.
In 1886, Port Moody was the western terminus of the Canadian Pacific Railway, but it lost that claim to fame in 1887 when the line was extended to Vancouver.
There are more than a dozen Cities in Metropolitan Vancouver BC.
