The park encompasses spawning beds of sockeye, chinook, coho and pink salmon. The wooded area surrounding the river contains a natural assortment of trees and the park is also home to numerous species of birds and mammals.
Open approximately April to October, the park has a large day-use parking area for 1500 vehicles, including tour buses. Wheelchair access. The park is located along both sides of the Adams River from its source at Adams Lake to its outlet into Shuswap Lake. Camping is not permitted in the park, but Shuswap Lake Provincial Park is located 15 km along the road to Scotch Creek and has camping facilities.
