The peninsula between
English Bay and
Burrard Inlet begins with the downtown commercial and financial centre of
Vancouver. It ends with the 1000-acre Stanley Park, one of
Vancouver's best known features.

North Vancouver and the park, carrying substantial traffic on Highway 1A/99, which crosses the heart of the park. A waterfront road loops around the park. You can use your car or rent a
Horse Drawn Tours. The park is known for its totems, the "Girl in a Wet Suit" sculpture, Prospect Point, Brockton Point, and the Stanley Park Zoo, which houses 126 species of wildlife on 120 acres. The
Vancouver Aquarium has over 8000 species of aquatic life, including beluga and orca (killer) whales.
