The paved Glacier Highway connects Stewart with Highway 37 at Meziadin Junction. The town's rustic buildings, dating from its mining days, have been used as the back drop for several Hollywood films. Here, the shops are colourful and the people are friendly. Visitors can charter a fishing expedition, or view the snow-capped mountains, up close from an air charter.
Stewart is right on the border with the Alaska, at the easternmost point of that state.
