Aulne Abbey

Search Thuin-Gozee

Like the now-vanished abbey at Lobbes, Aulne was founded in the 7th century by St. Landelin and destroyed in 1794 by the French revolutionaries. Unlike Lobbes, ruins of Aulne still stand. Part of the monastery was restored in the late 19th century and now serves as a hospice.
