The city of Antwerp is the center of the worlds diamond industry -- the diamonds are mined all over the globe, but they are cleft, sawed, polished, refined, and resold in Antwerp. Jewelry is not the only use to which these diamonds are put; they are also used in industry, for instance at the tips of drill bits, and they are prized for their unique properties by the scientific research community.

All of these aspects of the diamond industry and more are explored at the Diamond Museum of Antwerp.
