Muse de l'Histoire industrielle et sociale de la Rgion bruxelloise - La Fonderie

Search Brussels

The goal of the Foundry Museum of Industry is to reconnect the modern consumer with the industrial processes that lie behind the products that we use. In the 19th century, most manufacturing and industry took place in urban loctions, amidst the general populace, but as the 20th century progressed, manufacturing moved away to far-flung locations, dislocated from the everyday experiences of most people. Through exhibits which recreate and evoke the spirit of the industrial life of old Brussels, housed in three buildings which were once an active foundry, the products of modern industry are rendered less abstract and mysterious.
