The Memling Museum is named for Flemish master painter Hans Memling, whose work forms an important part of the collection. The museum is housed in a medieval hospital and its adjacent chapel; it is this chapel where the Memlings are located, including famous works such as the St. Ursula Shrine and the Altarpiece of St John the Baptist and St John the Evangelist. The hospital portion of the museum features pieces that have belonged the institution for centuries, displayed in the original atmosphere of the space.
