The Museum of Printing, open since 1977, owns more than 400 printing presses and similar printing works, dating from the 18th century through the 20th. A selection of these are available for public viewing (more are available by scheduling an appointment for a guided tour). Three of the most noteworthy items in the collection include a Stanhope press, a wooden 18th century press, and the cylindrical press used by the occupying German forces in Brussels during the First World War.
