The Duke of Wellington only stayed in the building which is now the Wellington Museum for a few days, but it was a crucial moment in history -- one of those days saw the Allied victory under Wellington's direction over the forces of Napoleon at Waterloo. Wellington's command center was located in this former Inn, now transformed into a museum displaying the Duke's personal effects, maps and momentos of the battlefield, and the like.
