The refuge contains 67 acres and includes two separate tracts of land, located along Wilbur Avenue and Fulton Shipyard Road, just W of the city of Antioch, California. This refuge protects critical habitat for three endangered species: Lange's metalmark butterfly, Contra Costa wallflower, and Antioch Dunes evening primrose. In order to protect the endangered species and their habitat, this refuge is closed to the public.
