Corte Madera is located in Marin County north of San Francisco between Sausalito and San Rafael along US Highway 101 near San Pablo Bay and the Pacific Ocean. Incorporated in 1916, the town extends from San Francisco Bay on the east side of Highway 101 to Mt. Tamalpais on the west. Corte Madera occupies an area of four square miles of land.
