Gavilan College commences its 80th year of operation as a community college in 1999. It was established in 1919 as San Benito County Junior College.
The College District is comprised of southern Santa Clara County and most of San Benito County, and serves an area of approximately 2,700 square miles.
Gavilan College's main campus is located in Gilroy (Santa Clara County). Satelite campuses are located in Hollister and Morgan Hill.
Administration of Justice and Performing Arts are just two of the 17 majors offered in the AA degree program. The AS degree areas (among 10) include Aviation and Computer Graphics & Design. Students may also opt for 13 Certificate programs including Auto Collision Repair Technology and Fire Technology.
The College has a total enrollment of about 3800.
