Rich in history and community spirit, Sutter Delta Medical Center started caring for patients in the 1930s in a small house called Antioch Community Hospital, which served patients for over 30 years. In 1989, Sutter Delta doubled in size to 111 beds, and added a nursing tower, lobby and cafeteria as well as an adjoining medical office building. In addition, Delta Memorial Hospital affiliated with Sutter Health, the largest not-for-profit healthcare system in California, in 1990. In 1996, Delta Memorial Hospital officially changed its name to Sutter Delta Medical Center. Sutter's medical staff proudly numbers more than 200 physicians. Most physicians are board certified and have advanced training in their specialties. In addition, Sutter Delta is one of the area s largest employers with over 600 employees and boasts a volunteer staff of more than 150 dedicated, active community members.
