You can tour the many habitats of Santa Cruz simply with a stroll through the exhibit area; visit woodlands, chaparral, grasslands, and a variety of marine environments. Pound acorns like an Ohlone Indian, excavate sand dollars, tickle a sea star, or get up close and personal with a living beehive. This museum is great for all ages.

Displays of American Indian artifacts, rocks, fossils, a touch tidepool exhibit and specimens of local flora and fauna are all on display at the Santa Cruz City Museum of Natural History. The museum sponsors programs, field trips, and events such as the winter Fungus Fair and Native Animal Day.

The museum is open daily excluding holidays. Admission to the museum is free and donations are gladly accepted.
