The Tulare Historical Museum preserves and showcases the history of the City of Tulare serving as a cultural center for the community. From Yokuts Indian villages through the arrival of the railroad in 1872, and right up to present-day Tulare, the museum displays dioramas, relics, photographs, and replicas of rooms and small businesses to illustrate the town's history. The museum also houses memorabilia of Olympians Bob Mathias and Sim Iness who were both from the area.

The museum is open Thursday through Sunday excluding holidays. Admission if free and donations are gladly accepted.
