The City of Tuolumne is a small community of about 1685 residents as of the year 2002. Tuolumne City covers about 6.734 sq. kilometers of land area. The City of Tuolumne is about 78 miles from The California state capital, Sacramento (as the crow flies). Located in Tuolumne County, Tuolumne City is located in the recreational and cultural center of the Gold Country. Outdoor activities are abundant here and include skiing, biking, hiking, rafting, fishing, camping, and more. There are also many other activities involving the arts including theaters, museums, and other forms of entertainment. Tuolumne is only about two hours and 150 miles from the San Francisco Bay Area where many other activities are available. There are so many different things to do while in the historic Gold Country where the biggest gold rush in American history began, and Tuolumne is part of that history. Tuolumne is located in Tuolumne County and is also known as Tuolumne City.

California Exposition & State Fair Sacramento CA June12-28 The Cal Expo is the site of the California State Fair. All year Satellite Wagering, Waterworld USA, Paradise Island Fun Center and an RV Park are just a few of the features of the Cal Expo.The first State Fair was held in 1854 in San Francisco at the old Music Hall. The fair offered premiums (prizes) for its competitions and included such agricultural exhibits such as 2-inch-long peanuts, 72-pound beets and a 10-pound carrot that was longer than 3 feet. Horseracing was part of that first fair and has continued to be a part of the fair ever since.
