Located above the village of Saratoga on unirrigated hillsides in the eastern Santa Cruz Mountains, the Cooper-Garrod is a family owned and operated 28-acre estate vineyard and winery. It specializes in Chardonnay, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, and Viognier varietals and its own Boredaux-style blend, R.V.'s Fine Claret. It features a tasting room, and a fruit house. The equestrian center, Garrod Farms Riding Stables, offers horseback riding daily on trails with panoramic views of Silicon Valley and the San Francisco Bay. The winery also offers picnic and special event facilities in addition to wine tasting.

All year Satellite Wagering, Waterworld USA, Paradise Island Fun Center and an RV Park are just a few of the features of the Cal Expo.The first State Fair was held in 1854 in San Francisco at the old Music Hall. The fair offered premiums (prizes) for its competitions and included such agricultural exhibits such as 2-inch-long peanuts, 72-pound beets and a 10-pound carrot that was longer than 3 feet.
