Bishop's Castle has been in progress for almost 30 years. Jim Bishop has single-handedly gathered and set over 1000 tons of rock to create the castle. Bishop calls it "a monument to hard-working people" and "America's biggest, one-man, physical project." For a direct route to Bishop Castle take Interstate I-25 and turn west at highway 165 going through Rye or Colorado City for approximately 27 miles to Bishop's Castle.
