Evergreen is situated just a half an hour west of Denver, in the foothills of the Denver Mountain Park System. The area was once a Ute and Arapaho hunting ground, and was homesteading by settlers in the 1860s. Evergreen Lake offers fishing, boating, and winter ice skating and ice fishing. Hikers and mountain bikers will enjoy the many trails offered at nearby Elk Meadow. Evergreen is part of the Denver, Colorado metro area.
