Parachute is situated at the confluence of the Colorado River and Parachute Creek, both popular for fishing. Much of the surrounding land is cattle ranching country, and several guest ranches invite visitors to spend some time in the "Old West." Parachute is located in Garfield County between Grand Junction and Rifle along I-70.
